The principle of dioxin removal by activated carbon is mainly based on its unique pore structure and physical adsorption. Activated carbon is a carbon material with a rich pore structure, which contains a large number of micropores, mesopores and macropores. These pores provide adsorption space for dioxin molecules. The adsorption capacity of activated carbon is closely related to its specific surface area, pore volume and pore size distribution. The larger the specific surface area, the larger the area that the activated carbon can contact with the dioxin molecules, and the stronger the adsorption capacity. Pore volume and pore size distribution also have an important impact on the adsorption effect. It usually requires an average pore diameter of 2.0-5.0nm, a specific surface area greater than 500m²/g, and a specific pore volume greater than 0.2cm³/g.
